How to build a triad on the piano and write it notes?

So, today we will figure out how to build a triad on note paper or on the instrument. But to begin with, let us repeat a little, what is this triad in music? Since childhood, since studying at a music school, I remember this verse: "Three sounds, some consonance is the perfect triad."

In any textbook solfeggio or harmony explanation of the musical term "triad" will be as follows: a chord that consists of three sounds located along the thirds. But in order to fully understand this definition, one must know what a chord and a third are.

Chord is called the agreement of several musical sounds (at least three), and third - this is the interval (that is, the distance) between these same sounds, equal to three steps ("tertsiya" from the Latin language is translated as "three"). And yet, the key point in defining the word "triad" is the word "three" - exactly three (not two and not four) soundarranged in a certain way (at a distance three steps). So please remember this!

How to build a triad on the piano?

A person who is engaged in music professionally, it is not difficult to build a triad in a matter of a fraction of seconds. But we must not forget that there are amateur musicians or those who are simply too lazy to read endless texts about musical theory. Therefore, we include the logic: "three" - three, "sound" - sound, sound. Next you need to build the sounds of the third. It's okay if at first this word brings fear, and it seems that nothing will work out.

Consider the option of building on the piano on white keys (we still do not notice the black keys). We press any white key, then we count “one-two-three” up or down from it - and, thus, find the second note of this chord from three, and from either of these two we find the third note in the same way (we count - once , two, three and all). See how it will look on the keyboard:

You see, we marked (that is, pressed) three white keys, they are located through one. Easy to remember, right? It is easy to play from any note and it is easy to immediately see on the keyboard - three notes through one key one from another! If you count these keys in order, then it turns out that each higher or lower note is third in its ordinal number with respect to its neighbors - this is the principle of arrangement in third. And just this chord covers five keys, of which we pressed the 1st, 3rd and 5th. Like this!

At this stage, the sound of the chord is not important, the main thing is that you managed to overcome the difficulty, and the question of how to build a triad will no longer arise. You already built it! Another thing is that you have succeeded for the triad - after all, they are different (there are four of them).

How to build a triad in a music notebook?

It is no more difficult to build a triad, immediately recording them with notes, than on the piano. Here, in general, everything is ridiculously simple - you just need to draw on a musical staff ... a snowman! Here it is:

This is a triad! Imagine? Here is such a smooth "snowman" from the notes. There are three notes in each "snowman" and how are they located? Either all three on the rulers, or all three between the rulers - are in contact with each other. Similarly, it is easy to remember, easy to build, and easy to find out if you see something similar in the notes. Plus, you already know how it is played - three notes through one key.

What are the triad? Types of Triad

You want, you do not want, and here it is necessary to resort to musical terminology. Who does not understand, it will be necessary to read the special literature, and try to learn the basics. You can even start with a musical notation textbook, which is given free to anyone who wants to as a gift from our website - just leave your data in the form at the top of the page, and we will send you this gift!

So, the types of triad - let's deal with it! Triad are of four types: large, small, enlarged and diminished. A large triad is often called a major triad, but a small, respectively, minor. By the way, these major and minor triads in the form of hints for piano are gathered in one place - this is here. Look, suddenly come in handy.

These four species differ, of course, not only by their names. It's all about the tertiary that make up these triads. Tertiums are large and small. No, no, and in a large third and in a small equal number of steps - three things. They differ not in the number of steps covered, but in the number of tones. And what is this? - you ask. Tones and semitones are also a measure of the distance between the sounds, but only more accurate than the steps (taking into account the black keys, which we had previously agreed not to take into account).

So, in the third third - two tones, and in the small one and a half. Let's turn again to the piano keys: there are black keys, there are white keys - you see two rows. If these two rows are combined into one and playing with the fingers all the keys in a row (both black and white), then between each neighboring key there will be a distance equal to half a tone or a semitone. This means that two such distances are two semitones, half plus half is the whole. Two semitones are one tone.

Now attention! In the third third, we have one and a half tones - that is, three half-tones, in order to get three half-tones, we need to move four keys on the keyboard in a row (for example, from to to E-flat). In the third major tones, there are already two, respectively, you need to step not four, but five keys (for example, from note to note to a clean note).

So, from these two third four types of triads are combined. In a major or major trivia, first there is a large third, and then a small one. In a minor or minor triad - the opposite is true: first small, then large. In the increased triad, both thirds are large, and in a smaller one, it is easy to guess, both are small.

Well, that's all! You probably know better than me how to build a triad now. The speed of construction will depend on your workout. Experienced musicians - even on this occasion are not soared, they represent any triad instantly, novice musicians - sometimes they cheat something, but this is normal! Good luck everyone!
